Block the sites you pick
Add the websites that pull you away and block them for a session of anywhere from 5 minutes to 8 hours.
Focus for Chrome is a free website blocker for Google Chrome. Pick the sites that pull you away and start a session of 5 minutes to 8 hours. Until the timer ends, a blocked site opens the Focus page instead, with the time left and a quick brain game. It can also hide YouTube Shorts and the Instagram Reels feed, and leave the rest of YouTube and Instagram alone.
Coming soon: Focus for Chrome is waiting for review in the Chrome Web Store.
Timed blocking for the sites you pick, and switches that hide the short-video feeds on YouTube and Instagram.
Add the websites that pull you away and block them for a session of anywhere from 5 minutes to 8 hours.
A blocked site opens the Focus page, which shows the time left and a quick brain game.
Strict sessions can't be ended early. Standard sessions ask you to wait 30 seconds and solve 3 sums first.
During a session you can add sites to your list but not take them off.
Blocking a site also blocks its subdomains, so youtube.com covers m.youtube.com. Tabs already showing a blocked site switch to the Focus page when the session starts.
Shorts open in the normal video player, and the Shorts shelf and tab are hidden. It has its own switch.
The Reels feed goes back to the Instagram home page, but a reel someone sends you still opens. It has its own switch, too.
Every address is checked inside Chrome against your own list. Focus doesn't record or send the pages you visit.
Use it without an account, or sign in with your Focus account to earn XP and keep your streak.
Install the extension in desktop Chrome on Windows, Mac or Linux.
Add the websites to block. Each one covers its subdomains too.
Choose a length from 5 minutes to 8 hours, and Strict or Standard.
Blocked sites open the Focus page until the timer ends. Sign in if you want your sessions to earn XP and keep your streak going.
Focus for Chrome works on its own, and with Focus for Android and Focus for Windows on the same account.
Sign in with your Focus account and your streak and XP carry over between Chrome, your phone and your PC. Time you spend focusing on two devices at the same time counts once.
About Focus for AndroidWith Focus for Windows on the same computer, blocking a program also blocks its website in Chrome during the session: Discord blocks discord.com, and Steam blocks store.steampowered.com. The app and the extension talk over a connection that stays on your computer.
About Focus for WindowsBlocks apps on your phone with sessions you can't cancel, Phone-only mode, schedules, block rules and 12 brain games.
Android 7.0 or newerBlocks programs like Discord, Steam and games on your PC, with strict sessions, schedules, daily limits and an always-on-top mini timer.

Blocking websites, YouTube Shorts and Reels, Incognito, privacy and your account.
Add the Focus for Chrome extension, pick the sites you want blocked, and start a session of 5 minutes to 8 hours. Until the timer ends, a blocked site opens the Focus page instead, with the time left and a quick brain game. Blocking a site also blocks its subdomains.
Yes. Turn on the YouTube Shorts switch in Focus for Chrome. Shorts then open in the normal video player, and the Shorts shelf and tab are hidden. Focus doesn't block YouTube itself unless you add youtube.com to your list.
Yes, in Chrome. Turn on the Instagram Reels switch and the Reels feed goes back to the Instagram home page. A reel someone sends you still opens. To block Instagram completely for a while, add instagram.com to your list and start a session.
Only if you allow it. Chrome doesn't run extensions in Incognito windows unless you turn that on: open chrome://extensions, click Details on Focus, and turn on Allow in Incognito.
Yes. You can list sites in your computer's hosts file, block them in your router's settings, or use your device's family or parental controls. Those work beyond Chrome, but they take more setup and aren't made for blocking a site for an hour and then letting it back. An extension is easier: pick the sites and a length, and blocking ends when the timer does.
Yes. It runs in desktop Chrome, so it works in Chrome on Windows, Mac and Linux. There's no Focus app for Mac, iPhone or iPad, so on a Mac, Focus blocks websites in Chrome only.
Not in a Strict session. A Standard session can end early after a 30-second wait and 3 sums. During a session you can add sites but not remove them. Any extension can be switched off in Chrome, though, so treat Focus for Chrome as a strong nudge rather than a lock.
No. Every address is checked inside Chrome against your own list, and Focus doesn't record or send the pages you visit. If you sign in, only session times and blocked attempts go to your account, and a blocked attempt is just the site's domain, like instagram.com.
It's free, with no ads, and works without an account. Sign in with your Focus account, the same one you use in Focus for Android and Focus for Windows, to earn XP and keep your streak.
Focus for Chrome is coming soon to the Chrome Web Store: free, with no ads, for Chrome on Windows, Mac and Linux.
