Focus ("the app") is developed and operated by Arrowway ("we", "us"). It helps you stay focused by blocking distracting apps during focus sessions, and offers brain-training games and progress tracking. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address and/or phone number, profile photo link (if you sign in with Google), and a sign-in identifier from Firebase Authentication.
  • Profile and progress: age range and goals you choose in onboarding, focus-session history, streaks, XP and brain-game results.
  • Blocking data: the apps you choose to block (name and package name) and your blocking rules (schedules and daily limits). When a blocked app is intercepted we store the app's name, package name and the time, to show your progress.
  • Purchases: subscription status and purchase tokens from Google Play. We never see your card details.
  • Advertising: the free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device advertising ID and other device identifiers, your IP address (used to estimate a general location), ad interactions and diagnostic information to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, subject to your consent choices.

Earlier versions of the app offered an AI tutor and quizzes. If you used them, any related data we still hold is deleted when you delete your account.

Device permissions

To block the apps you choose, Focus needs these Android permissions:

  • Usage access: lets Focus see which app is currently open, so it can tell when you open an app on your block list. It does not read the content inside any app, what you type, passwords or messages. The open app's name is compared on your device with your block list.
  • Display over other apps: lets Focus show its block screen on top of a blocked app.
  • Notifications and a foreground service: keep blocking running reliably while it is active, and show an ongoing "Focus Protection Active" notice.
  • Start at boot: restarts blocking after your phone restarts, only if you still had apps blocked.
  • List of launchable apps: lets you pick which apps to block.

You can turn any of these off at any time in Android settings; Focus cannot block apps without Usage access and Display over other apps. This information is used on your device and is not sold. The only related data we store is described above (the names of apps you choose to block, and the name and time when a blocked app is intercepted).

How we use data

To provide and secure the app, sync your progress, process subscriptions, show ads in the free version, and fix problems. We do not sell your personal data.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that run the app: Google (Firebase Authentication and Firestore, AdMob, Google Play) and our hosting and database provider. AdMob receives the advertising-related data described above. We may disclose data if required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data inside the app (Settings > Delete Account) or via our account deletion page. Deletion removes your account, progress and logs from our systems. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it in Google Play > Subscriptions.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access controls. No method is perfectly secure.

Children

Focus is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
